It was important that our kitchen felt like a family kitchen, even if it was in a tiny home. So we didn’t want a small campervan hob and sink in one.
We spent some time researching different hobs and prices before settling on a black tempered glass 2 burner hob. We figured we rarely used more than two jobs at a time when cooking at home so this would be perfect for us.
The hob is easy to fit, we got it checked by a professional gas man in Somerset. Camper Tech is a mobile campervan & caravan engineer so helpful and very affordable prices. The gas hob comes with the jets needed to convert it to use from an LPG gas cylinder so you don’t have to shop around for extra bits.
We don’t have an inverter or 240v electric in our van so we didn’t bother connecting up the electric plug for using the spark on the hob. It has been no hassle to use a lighter or matches
We have lived with this hob as part of our van for over a year now and cannot fault it.
The hob burns with real force like a kitchen hob in a house, so you don’t have to nurse a pan of boiling water for an hour just to cook some potatoes on a camping stove which suits us great for family meals.
The black glass and hob rings are super easy to wipe down and keep clean as it’s all one level without annoying dips for grease and burnt on bits to linger. Suits our housework style very well too!
Great quality, nice looking and good practical kitchen hob for a campervan. Would definitely recommend if you are searching for one for your own build.
We bought ours off of eBay from a campervan self build shop. We spent £89.00 (in 2017) and got free delivery.
Please note we are not being paid for our views, or getting free stuff for recommendations. We just like sharing with others what kit works for us incase it can be of help to others with their own build projects.
