The Galleon Park, Vitoria-Gasteiz is the best play park we have come across yet on our travels… Mainly because we are all huge pirate fans and really appreciate the work they do.
But also because well… who’s ever heard of a 33 metre pirate Galleon being built in a park of 3000 Square metres in a city so all the children can play on it for free?!
We parked easily in the car park for the Lakuabizkarra Health Centre.
Galleon Parc Address:
C/Sierra de Aralar, s/n 01010, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava, Spain.
Galleon Parc Opening Hours:
The park is huge and a great place to spend the day, if you stock up on picnic supplies.
There is a smaller, low level area with little houses and rope bridges for small ones to explore surrounded by the biggest sand pit we have come across! A small play stream complete with water pump and water wheels.
There are taller houses and walk ways for older kids and even a zip wire and huge slides to whiz around on, you can even climb up the crows nest on a cargo net like a real life pirate in training!
It was like suddenly parking up in Never Never Land… I think us adults enjoyed it just as much as the children! If you visit the Basque capital Vitoria-Gasteiz with small people or any lost boys, you must check this place out.
